Head of Employee Relations & Policy - Hang Seng Bank

Responsibilities This role will lead Employee Relations (ER) and Policy for Hang Seng and influence employees’ experience of working by focusing on delivering a fair, consistent and transparent approach to people and driving a high performing organisation where people thrive and share the same core value, culture and behavioural standards. As part of the HR Leadership team, this role reports directly to the Head of HR. Tasks and responsibilities of the job holder may include the following: • Leadership in the delivery of ER & Policy support for HR teams, businesses and functions. Monitor and oversee compliance with Group ER and Policy principles as well as local regulatory requirements • Identify trends and themes to inform direction of ER and Policy strategies and provide oversight of, and act as a point of escalation, for all conduct risk issues to protect the Bank. • Observe the effectiveness of escalation policy and whistle blowing channels by tracking and reporting compliance breaches, unethical behaviours and complaint statistics. • Provide guidelines to align the investigation and handling of employee conduct breaches, support line managers or intervene where appropriate in delivering greater consistency and maintain fairness in terms of consequences management • Build best practices and excellence in employee relations and proposition, diversity and inclusion, and personal conduct.\ • Give advice and oversee reorganisation and restructuring activities to ensure consistency and mitigate risks. • Collaborate with Group and regional ER & Policy teams to share knowledge and best practices, and achieve alignment through forum and training • Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. Requirements • Experienced specialist in Employee Relations and employment policy with proven track record in a complex organization. • Experience of financial services and/or heavily regulated sectors desirable. • Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely in English both orally and in writing. • Proficiency in Chinese. • Demonstrated experience engaging with auditors, regulators, executives and senior management teams. • Ability to analyze and use data. • Ability to operate in ambiguities and ability to lead and drive change. • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. • Excellent attention to detail. • Strong, values led leader. • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
